Spohrt

SUCCESSFUL STORIES AND EXAMPLES

Throughout the course of the Spohrt Training journey, we have been able to help many football players on and off the pitch. Here you’ll find some of the most prominent case studies that we have been a part of over the years.

KEIRAN BRENNAN

When Keiran came to us, he was unemployed and could not get into work despite his best efforts. He had been playing at Celtic since the age of nine but in 2011 he was released from the club. On leaving the club, he had no working experience or relevant qualifications for the roles that he was applying for.

He’s been working with Spohrt Training to change his mindset and improve his chances of getting a job. Keiran felt that playing for Celtic simply hadn’t equipped him for life after football and he was starting from scratch. We showed him that this was not the case and that he had skills that many employers would be looking out for.

After being rejected by football, it can be a hard task to once again find your footing and Growth Mindset. Keiran never anticipated that he would be dropped by the team but this is the sad reality for most players. He’s gained a great amount of perspective on the industry and has been speaking out on the issue.

Keiran urges other players to start preparing before they have to, as it’s never too early. He described the process as crushing his dream and leaving him without a hope. Spohrt Training has given him his confidence back once again and are working alongside Keiran to find a fitting role.

If you feel like you’re in a similar situation and require our help then don’t hesitate to contact our team. We can guide you in regards to SQA qualifications, modern apprenticeships and training courses.

PAUL LAMBERT, ENGLISH PREMIERSHIP MANAGER. JOHN BROWN FORMER RANGERS PLAYER NOW RESPECTED COACH AND MANAGER

Paul Lambert commented: “I am delighted to lend my support to Spohrt and I fully endorse their principles. The wellbeing of young sportsmen and women is of paramount importance and although some fulfill their dream of playing football at the highest level there are many more who don’t make it and Spohrt can make a positive difference to the players who seek alternative employment.”

John Brown commented: “This is something that football should be doing for every young kid. You need to chase your dream but this kind of safety net can offer some sort of security. I wish I had the backing of a company like Spohrt when I was a young player.”

MARK WOTTE, FORMER PERFORMANCE DIRECTOR SFA

“Spohrt is a unique business that fulfils a real need in Scottish Football. Offering employment, training and education for professional footballers is a pioneering initiative that certainly deserves professionals’ and clubs’ attention. I have experienced Spohrt very genuine and passionate about what they do and my impression is that they will make sure that the business delivers excellent service to support professional footballers.

I think Spohrt have the full package to advise and assist Pro Youth Academy graduates if they are not successful getting a full time contract as a Football Professional.”

GORDON SMITH, FORMER SFA CHIEF EXECUTIVE

” Your plan is first class and should be considered seriously by both the clubs and ruling bodies. The future of both players who make the grade and those who don’t, is seriously effected by their educational background and achievements. Training for a future life, as well as a career, after football, is fundamental to the financial wellbeing of all those who participate in the game. Your initiative can provide a very worthwhile, structured improvement to their education and career prospects. I firmly believe it should be implemented and supported by the SFA, SPFA and all member clubs of the SPFL.”
